Wellness Achiever, Jack Wagoner, Ph.D.

Introducing Myself
Hi, I’m Jack Wagoner. I am 64 and have been a math professor at the University of California, Berkeley, for almost 40 years. I bike to work and love to play the congas. I am also a very active soccer referee. Until I turned 56, I would suffer from a virus or flu every winter, as well as colds throughout the year. Usually, it would begin with a sniffle or a sore throat, and would invariably blossom into my being out for two weeks or more. In 1998, I became interested in learning more about nutritional supplementation and found some products that seemed to boost my immunity. The winter bugs no longer occurred, and I was doing more or less okay. Ziquin, however, has helped me experience health at an even newer level than before. I’d like to share my experience with you here.
Introduction to Ziquin through My Son’s Injury
In 2004, my son Austin experienced an injury playing soccer and developed a painful groin inflammation. At the time, Austin was at the height of his soccer game, playing in one of the top youth boy’s soccer teams in Northern California. He wasn’t even planning on going straight to college after high school, because he wanted to play pro soccer in Brazil first. So there he was, at the pinnacle of his club and high school soccer career, with his dreams all laid out. But with this chronic and debilitating inflammation, they were disappearing right before him. It was devastating.
Austin was very depressed, and it affected him dramatically. For four months, Austin was forced to sit around under the care of a highly recommended but conventional doctor, who just kept telling him to rest and take time off. This was no real answer for Austin at the time, and we knew we needed another approach. I had heard about Ziquin, Dr. Chris Morris, and his extensive background with sports injuries. So I got in touch with him, and he recommended that Austin use the Ziquin products to help deal with the inflammation.
Right around then, we were fortunate to find a highly experienced physical therapist for Austin. So we decided to drop the sports doctor and go with the physical therapy and Ziquin. The physical therapy literally broke down the scar tissue from the injury. With Dr. Morris’ suggestion, Austin began taking Ziquin, with extra All-Xymatic Relief and Energy Endo Biotics for enzyme and endocrine support. This provided critical support in keeping the inflammation down and accelerating the healing process. Between the physical therapy and the Ziquin supplements, Austin was out there again playing soccer after one and a half months!
Witnessing My Son’s Recovery Persuaded Me to Try Something New
Through witnessing Austin’s recovery, I began to really understand that Ziquin’s products address sports recovery and inflammation in a fundamental way. When I saw that happen, I decided to take the Ziquin products myself. I also felt open and curious to try something that might be better than the supplements I had been taking.
My Life as a Soccer Referee - Improved Speed with 100% Concentration
Around eight years ago as a result of my children’s participation in soccer, I became a soccer referee. As a soccer official, you must run constantly for two 25-45 minute periods, with one five-minute break. All the while, you must be mentally sharp. Endurance and speed are the two key components. You must be able to keep up with play and be in the right position, or else your mind goes to pot. Recently, I upgraded from a Grade 8 to a Grade 7 soccer referee. For me, this was a personal as well as more demanding achievement. Upgrading requires assessment and evaluation on a high level youth game (45 minute halves), passing a written test, and passing a running test set at a national standard. I passed all the tests—including the running test at the level for 38 years old and younger.
During a soccer game, there is a lot of excitement requiring 100% concentration for 100% of the time. I must be fully present. When I make a mistake, I must deal with it and move on. The physical composure and inner mental strength involved really require a fully supported body on a nutritional level. Even when you don’t feel as strong as you’d like to be in a given situation, with a properly operating and healthy body you can marshal your internal resources to get the job done. And that’s how Ziquin has been crucial to my being able to referee at my age.
My Ziquin Rejuvenation Plan and Weight Loss
A special feature of the Ziquin Rejuvenation Plan is the sound explanation on good dietary practices and weight loss using a low stress diet! Though I’m nowhere near perfect about my vegetables, I have certainly achieved a greater balance in my food groups. Before starting on Ziquin, I used to weigh about 185-190 lbs. Now, I am around 170-175 lbs.
My Ziquin regimen is straightforward, with a variation on the minerals. I take the Mind and Body Collection plus Hepatic Shen Food at the recommended amounts and about half the recommendation of minerals as a straight supplement. At Ziquin’s suggestion, I incorporate additional minerals as a “sports drink.” I just mix fresh lemon juice and Neptune’s Nanomeds into a bottle of water and shake. This has been extremely useful during the hot California summer season. A few years ago, I refereed three games in one day in 106 degree, no-breeze weather typical for Sacramento. As you can imagine, my homemade Ziquin mineral drink was absolutely essential to getting through that day!
The On-Going Health Difference
Ziquin has made a big difference for me. I have definitely experienced more vitality and healing reserves than ever before. Since I have started taking Ziquin products a little over two years ago, I have not been ill at all. The three times (literally) when I felt a slight flu or cold coming on, I just doubled up on my Ziquin products, got more rest at night, and kept going in the day. The mild symptoms cleared up in a day or two. This is nothing like before, when I would experience a downhill progression of congestion, full blown head cold, very low energy, and time in bed.
Endurance and Feeling Great at Age 64
I build exercise into my regular day. On most days, I ride my bicycle at least 45 minutes or more to go to work and do errands. To return home from campus, I have to ride up very steep Berkeley hills. I like to say to my friends, “Well, I made it up the hill again.” Sometimes, the last thing I want to do at the end of a long day is to ride back up that long hill. But I do it anyway, because I always feel good afterwards. That’s what motivates me. And if it’s raining hard and I decide to drive instead of bike to work, I will park my car way up the hill and jog to get back up there. I believe that it’s the consistency that helps with staying fit at age 64.
During the school season, I’m refereeing three to four games during the week, frequently doing two games back-to-back in the late afternoon and evening. Over the weekend, I will do two or three more games at the height of the soccer season. Basically, I enjoy refereeing year-round!
When It Comes To Health, There Is No Such Thing as a Stupid Question
Through Austin's injury and being connected to Ziquin, my family has become more and more aware of how important it is to take responsibility for your own health. In Austin's case, we initially followed the usual path familiar to many families: You start out with your primary care physician, get referrals up the line to specialists in so much as your health insurance allows, and hope that the health care will be effective. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it is not. If not, you may experience a mix of emotions and you keep on trying and pay out of pocket, as we eventually had to do. Fortunately we took the steps to educate ourselves and arrived at our own health solutions. What we learned through Ziquin was that if you want to experience optimal health or true healing, you must keep asking questions and looking for answers—just as I have advised my students at UC Berkeley for many years: "There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only unanswered questions that lead to stupid results."
The Ziquin Educational Group provides the information, the conference calls and resources to help you make better decisions about your health and well-being on a daily basis. As you can see, being active is a big part of my life! Ziquin plays an essential supporting role in my ability to live and think at this high level, and I am very grateful for that! |
