Adrenal system
The adrenal glands are the two triangular endocrine ductless glands
situated on top of the kidneys and are controlled by the pituitary
gland. Some of the body’s cholesterol is stored in the adrenal
glands. The conversion of pregnenolone to DHEA occurs within the adrenal
glands. Pregnenolone production (from cholesterol) occurs primarily
in the adrenal glands (but is also produced in smaller quantities in
other areas of the body). When the body is under stress the adrenal
glands secrete glucocorticoids.
Amino Acids
are the building blocks of the entire body. Although the body can make
many amino acids, nine of them are essential and must be obtained from
the diet or supplements, since the body cannot produce them. Vitamins
and minerals cannot do their jobs effectively without amino acids.
Antioxidants
are critical enzyme helpers. Antioxidants are a number of naturally
occurring compounds (including enzymes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids
and phytochemicals) found in plant and animal foods, herbs, functional
food concentrates and supplements (individually or in combinations),
that help the body protect itself against free radical damage.

Bacteria
are single cell microorganisms that can cause disease or infection.
Friendly bacteria are also found in the body and contribute to better
digestion and immunity.
Balance
Practitioners of Chinese medicine believe that health is achieved and
disease prevented by maintaining the body in a ‘balanced state.’ This
concept is applied to both individuals and society at large. In individual
terms the ancient Chinese physicians preached that the best cure for
sickness is prevention; and a true physician teaches how to live.
Chinese Medicine
One quarter of the world’s population utilizes the principles
of Traditional Chinese Medicine. One of the major assumptions inherent
in TCM is that disease is due to an internal imbalance of Yin and Yang,
therefore disease can be treated by correcting the Yin-Yang imbalance.
The art of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to particularize the imbalance
(illness) accurately so the pathogen causing the trouble is corrected.
When there is imbalance, external agents can invade the body and cause
disease. These external agents are called pathogens. As the natural
forces of the body return to a normal balance between Yin and Yang
the disease is then cured.

Cleansing (retracing)
When an individual has been introduced to quality or therapeutic nutrients,
their body regains many of the regulatory and healing capabilities
lost with age, stress or toxicity. Because of this regained efficiency,
the body can go through a period of cleansing with some symptoms, which
indicates that toxins are being eliminated from the cells and organs.
This is a temporary process that not everyone will experience. Caution
is suggested and counsel from a professional healthcare provider is
recommended as the body heals and repairs itself.
Deficiency
Whenever you seek to correct a vitamin or mineral deficiency you must
recognize that nutrients work synergistically. This means that there
is a cooperative action between certain vitamins and minerals, which
work as catalysts, promoting the absorption and assimilation of other
vitamins and minerals. Correcting a deficiency in one vitamin or mineral
requires the addition of others, not simply replacement of the one
in which you are deficient. This is why taking a single vitamin or
mineral may be ineffective or even dangerous, and why a balanced vitamin
and mineral preparation is preferable.
Delivery Experience
The Ziquin Delivery Experience pertains to the exceptional way our
products are rapidly delivered and absorbed into the body. A large
percentage of our first time users describe their Ziquin Delivery Experience
as a warm sensation or an improved sense of well being.

Detoxification
is the process of using fasting, herbs or other nutrients to rid the
body of toxic substances.
Endocrine System/Hormones
The glands in the endocrine system and the hormones they secrete influence
practically every cell, organ and function of our bodies. As the body’s
chemical messengers, hormones transfer information and instructions
from one set of cells to another. They regulate our mood, growth and
development, tissue function, metabolism and sexual function, and in
women they support pregnancy and other reproductive processes. The
major glands that make up the human endocrine system are the hypothalamus,
pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, adrenals, pineal and the reproductive
glands—the ovaries and testes. Although the endocrine glands
are the body’s main hormone producers, some non-endocrine organs—such
as the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, thymus, skin and placenta—also
produce and release hormones.
Enteric Matrix™ (Ziquin)
is a proprietary compound that when bound to our active ingredients
allows for stability of the product. The tablet goes through the stomach
and once it enters the small intestine it begins the break down process
for delivery.

Essential Fatty
Acids (EFAs)
are essential for rebuilding and producing new cells. Contrary to popular
belief the body needs fat. The right kind of fat is crucial for multiple
biological functions, and has desirable effects on many disorders.
EFAs are considered essential nutrients meaning they cannot be made
by the body and must be supplied through the diet. EFAs can contribute
to decreased blood pressure and blood lipids. There are two categories
of essential fatty acids: Omega-3 (found in fish oil, certain vegetable
oils, black current seed oil, flaxseed oil and walnut oil) and Omega-6
(found in raw nuts, seeds, legumes, unsaturated vegetable oils, macadamia
nut oil, evening primrose seed oil, borage oil, grape seed oil, sesame
seed oil and soybean oil).
Functional
Food
is food containing nutritional additives that is promoted as being
beneficial to health and able to prevent or reduce certain diseases
such as tooth decay and cancer.
Gluten
is a protein found in many grains, including wheat, rye, barley and
oats that causes flour to bind and may also cause allergies in certain
people.
Imbalance (ailment)
is present when the flow of vital energy through the channels is disrupted.
(The channels are a system of conduits that carry and distribute Qi,
or vital energy, throughout the body.) Illness or disruption may occur
when the integrity of the channels themselves is damaged by a sprain
or strain. The Chinese describe this as a disease of ‘Qi’ or
pain, caused by a localized disruption to the flow of Qi.
Infection
is the invasion of body tissue by parasites, bacteria, viruses or fungi.
Minerals (coenzymes)
Every living cell on this planet depends on minerals for proper function
and structure. Like vitamins, minerals function as coenzymes, enabling
the body to perform its functions, including energy production, growth
and healing. Because all enzyme activities involve minerals, minerals
are essential for the proper utilization of vitamins and other nutrients.
Minerals
(ionic)
A mineral in an ionic state has specific positive or negative electrical
charges that cause a dynamic equilibrium to take place, allowing the
body to facilitate changes to move nutrients to the areas that need
them. Ionic minerals are the most compatible kind of mineral for human
physiological needs.

Orthomolecular
In 1968 Dr. Linus Pauling (two-time Nobel Laureate) coined the term
orthomolecular. He used it to describe a nutritional therapy involving
the use of naturally occurring substances normally present in the body
to treat disease. Nutritional imbalances are the root cause of biological
dysfunction. It is known that the RDA levels of nutrients are not adequate
when disease conditions are present. If a disease is linked to a nutrient
imbalance, it can be cured nutritionally.
Oxidation
is a cellular chemical reaction where oxygen reacts with another compound,
causing a chemical change that usually results in deterioration.
Phytochemicals
are the beneficial chemicals found in plants (“phyto” means
plant). Some phytochemicals are effective antioxidants, while some
stimulate immune function, decrease cholesterol, reduce arterial plaque
and stimulate enzyme functions in the body.
Pituitary
The pituitary gland is an endocrine gland situated at the back of the
brain. The pituitary gland is under the control of and has physical
connections to the hypothalamus (the “master gland” within
the brain). The hypothalamus produces numerous “releasing factors” (releasing
hormones) that travel to and influence the nearby pituitary gland.
The pituitary gland is responsible for the release of various hormones
within the body: Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), follicle stimulating
hormone (FSH), human growth hormone (hGH), luteinizing hormone (LH),
melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH), oxytocin, prolactin, thyrotrophin
and vasopressin.

Receptor Sites
are receptors on the surface of a cell membrane that are specific for
different types of molecules to be absorbed in the cell.
Revitalization
Experience
means the development of a healthier state of balance between the major
systems of the body. As the products begin to address various nutritional
deficiencies, the body responds with new levels of health. It took
many years of less than optimal choices in food and lifestyle to negatively
impact the body. Therefore the body must take time to correct itself.
Cleansing the body of old toxic debris is an essential part of rebuilding
and revitalizing the mind and body.
Secretagogues
are molecules that stimulate secretion. For example, the secretagogues from Energy Endo Biotics are proteins that stimulate the production of hormones, such as hGH, thus allowing the glands to start functioning again in a healthy way.
Stabilization
(Ziquin)
Stabilization refers to the process of preventing the breakdown of
the vitality or alteration of the nutrient. Many of Ziquin’s
stabilization processes are unique and patent pending.
Stevia
is a South American herb that contains three hundred times the sweetening
power of white sugar yet does not have white sugar’s negative
side effects. It is also non-caloric.

Synergistic
Strategy
is exclusive to the Ziquin line of dietary supplements and functional
foods. This means synergism within each product as well as synergism
between the products in Ziquin’s collections. Our synergistic
strategies are a unique feature to our proprietary formulations.
Synergy
is a phenomenon whereby two or more vitamins (or other nutrients) combine
to create stronger vitamin function than the sum of their individual
effects would suggest.
Systemic Enzyme
Therapy
is used to decrease swelling of the bronchial mucosa, as well as to
liquefy the phlegm and other secretions, improving expectoration and
the ability to breathe. Enzymes reduce inflammation, relieve chest
and back pain and stimulate the immune system by eliminating any present
antigen-antibody complexes. Enzymes can improve circulation (thereby
improving oxygen supply), helping speed tissue repair by bringing nutrients
to the damaged area and removing waste products.
Thyroid
is an endocrine gland located in the front of the neck. T3 and T4 are
two thyroid hormones which increase the ability to create energy. The
thyroid is responsible for the production and secretion of thyroid
hormones. Thyroid hormones (produced by the thyroid) determine the
body’s basal metabolic rate.

T3, T4
Two thyroid hormones that increase the body’s ability to create
energy.
Virus
Disease-causing structures that are not considered living organisms,
composed of a protein coat and core of DNA and or RNA. Viruses cannot
reproduce by themselves and must replicate inside cells. They are not
affected by antibiotic therapy.
Vitamins (coenzymes)
Many vitamins serve as enzyme helpers. Our bodies cannot manufacture
these coenzymes. They must be obtained from food or supplements. Coenzymes
in humans are usually the B vitamins. These vitamins serve as helpers
to enzymes by releasing energy from carbohydrates, fat and protein.
Enzymes help vitamins to function, and conversely, vitamins help enzymes
in their function. This is an example of synergistic action.
Ziquin
is a Tibetan word for the “essence of life.”
